The life doesn’t promise to be joyful for a “Chernobyl child” born straight after the nuclear disaster. True…but not for such an adventurer, adrenaline junkie, and popular extreme sports’ blogger like Yuliy Kobrin aka Kobra. Adopted by a British couple, Kobra spends his life in urban exploring and travels.

Skiing in the Scottish Highlands, Kobra meets a young German couple, Edel Baum and Kira Schneider. The new friends invite him to their luxurious house, where Kobra’s attention is drawn to Edel’s collection of World War II antiques and a mysterious Yugoslavian file which the couple asks to translate for them.

The file reveals classified underwater facilities from the Cold War times, hidden deeply in the Kotor Bay of Montenegro. Yuliy can’t miss an opportunity for such a discovery.

Six months earlier, a prominent scientist died in his apartment in central Berlin. The authorities believe it was a heart attack, but a police officer, Trina Stahl, thinks this case is far more dangerous and complicated.

All hell breaks loose for Kobra when he comes under attack in the Kotor Bay, when he realises his new German friends are not who they say they are, and his life now is of an interest for many parties. From Montenegro to Scotland, from Berlin to the Isle of Skye—Kobra is on the hunt for a mysterious alien object, the Seeds of Stars, but also for the truth about his own past.

[Release Blitz]: Denizens Among Us, The Realm of the Light Book 2 by James Quinlan Meservy

Condensed Review

For the people of the Realm of Light, this has always been the mantra; a foreboding concept of both men and beasts. As prophesies speak of new leadership that will bring the realm into a time of perpetual peace, four Denizen Clans exist in a tension-filled truce beneath the shadow of war. The Kingdom of Buz-Perr-Addock, ruled by Lord Yrimwaque, Jacob Hunter and his Queen, Svet-Lan-Addock, rules in fear of rebellion from the other three. While Lord Yrimwaque’s heirs – Arctyrus Hunter and his twin Amyrith, along with their cunning, younger brother Vulktyramous Hunter – are being groomed to inherit the Kingdom of Buz-Perr-Addock, Arctyrus becomes concerned with rumblings of an uprising from his brother Vulktyramous, whose main goal is to destroy the other Denizen Clans of the realm by recruiting other armies to his cause.

Arctyrus forsakes the throne of Buz-Perr-Addock by attempting to warn the other clans of his brother’s impending attack in hopes of unifying them against Vulktyramous. By doing so, Arctyrus hopes to restore peace and end the tyranny between the Denizen Clans of the Realm of Light once and for all. But the prideful clan leaders refuse to heed Arctyrus’ pleas and attack Vulktyramous and his followers individually, minimizing Arctyrus’ cause and making Vulktyramous all the more powerful. Amyrith remains indecisive between choosing which brother to follow while struggling to follow the will of her father. But in love and war, everyone aligns with one or the other and the fate of the Realms will hinge on that decision, forever.

Denizens Among Us is a Prequel to James Meservy’s debut hit, The United: The Realm of Light Book Series.

I love literature! My favorite genre to read is classic literature (Charles Dickens is my favorite author), and my favorite genre to write is fantasy. Even when I attempt to write something that is not fantasy, my WIP becomes fantasy by the end of my first draft.

I live in Southeast Idaho with my wife and children, and spent my childhood living moving all across northern Utah. I consider my home town to be Mendon, Ut, a small community near Logan, Utah in the Cache Valley.

While I love most breed of domesticated dogs, especially the Siberian Husky; absolutely adore red pandas; and greatly admire kestrels, my favorite animal is the wolf.

My family enjoys spending time together; playing with Legos, hiking, playing sports, watching movies, but we love reading together.

I have always had a fascination with falcons. I love the call of the Peregrine Falcon. As I said before, I greatly admire nearly everything about kestrels. But my favorite type of falcon of all-time is the Millennium Falcon. (Yes, I am a fan of Star Wars; specifically the films.)

When I am not spending time with my family, at work, fulfilling various religious responsibilities, eating, or sleeping, I am likely writing.

[Book review]: “Kaleidoscope” by Rita Delude

Genre: Contemporary romance

Publisher: Crazy Ink Publication

Published: 15th February 2018

Kaleidoscopes are made of many faceted pieces of broken glass. Alice is broken like that glass, and Travis did the shattering.
She breaks away to Escape, Colorado for its healing vibes, the love of her aunts, and a new beginning. Alice invests everything she has left—time, money, sweat, and tears into her new venture. This time, she’s not counting on a man.
This time, she picks up her own pieces and becomes the maker of her own dreams.
Whatever happens will be beautiful and powerful.
But, it would be so much more spectacular if she could find someone special to love her and share kaleidoscope dreams. In Escape, Colorado, where the scenery is breathtaking and the people are caring, perhaps, she will.

****My review****

I must admit I read romances very rare (unless historical), but this author has captivated me from the beginning and didn’t let me go till the end. This heart-warming, inspiring read is about a young strong woman, Alice, who escapes from buzzing big city life in New York and also from a painful break up with her treacherous, married boyfriend back to her hometown with such an inspiring name—Escape. Rita depicts vividly every single detail of this small town, where all citizens knows each other and where Alice builds her dream—a quilting art-shop and a studio “Kaleidoscope”, gathering debris of her broken heart, falling in love again,  and creating something truly inspiring.

Hello Book Fanatics,

Who’s ready for L. Salt? She’s a queen of many genres and she added us to her busy schedule today.  So prepare yourself for a look ‘Behind The Scenes’ with L. Salt.

Author Interview Questions:

1. What is your Author pen name?

I usually write under my pen name L. Salt, although my first published short story has appeared in an anthology under my real name.

2. What genre(s) do you write & why?

Most of my works are a mix of different genres. I’ve written a couple of magic realism short stories, a sci-fi/horror story, a speculative thriller/action novella, and a futuristic urban drama novel.

I think I write the same genres I like to read.

For example, I love history and everything history-related; however, I’m probably too lazy to research for a serious historical novel. So I prefer to…

[Book Review] Insights From Professionals by Antoine Airoldi

I fell very grateful for the opportunity to read and review Antoine’s book long before its official release date. I must admit I don’t read non-fiction very often, apart from art – or history-related works. However, it seems like Antoine’s book arrived just in time to help me to think over and evaluate my own creative writing process.

Every person who’s trying to find his/her passion in life and turn this passion in something creative (and even financially successful) has a time when they feel lost. The passion may become a heavy burden, and he/she is almost ready to give up and come back to a pretty standard, “nine till five” everyday routine. That’s what I feel from time to time when I experience writer’s block or another rejection from publishers/agents.

“Insights from Professionals” is a collection of interviews with eleven creative people—from artists and copywriters to start-up entrepreneurs and music fest’s promoters. Every interviewee shares his/her way to success, their raises and falls, their inspiration and, the main thing, their practical tips.

Reading this work, I realized I’m not alone in my procrastination and wish to give up writing. Success is impossible without trying and making mistakes, without harsh criticism (sometimes even from friends and relatives), and piles of rejection letters.

For me as a writer, the interviews with Raymond Duke and Alicia Cook became the most valuable, as they described their ways to writing/copywriting and gave some useful advice which I’ll definitely take on board.

This book shows that there is no straight, easy, smooth road to success. There is no scheme or scenario to follow to become a successful professional. There is just a process of learning, ideally from other professionals, but most of all, from your own failures.

I recommend “Insights from Professionals” to everybody who’s looking not only for inspiration, but also for practical advice that works!
